Learn about the treatment

Frontal Lifting is a surgical procedure for facial rejuvenation. The procedure smooths expression lines and wrinkles in the forehead region. The surgeon elevates the skin and tissues of the upper part of the face with the aid of a high-precision endoscopic camera, resulting in patient’s more youthful and renewed appearance.

The most modern and innovative method for facelifting performed in our clinic is the endoscopic procedure. This procedure provides the loosening the ligaments together with modern fasters, thus extending the result of the facelifting.

The technique consists of making small incisions to reposition ligaments and muscles. Thus, the face gains a younger appearance, softening the aging course, reducing marks, and arching the eyebrows, with virtually invisible scars.

Due to the smaller incisions, patients who undergo endoscopic facelifting have a shorter recovery period, and can resume their regular activities sooner. This procedure shows longer-lasting results compared to the more common methods that are usually carried out.

Combined Techniques

Before opting for a facelift, the patient must talk to the surgeon to align expectations and likely results. The facelift brings excellent results when performed individually. However, such procedure can go further and renew the appearance as a whole using it in combination with other procedures.

Some of the main techniques that are often combined with the frontal lifting include: the facelift, which rejuvenates the face region, and blepharoplasty for the eye region, so the results can be even more optimized.

Endotine® Forehead Device

One of the technologies we use in our surgeries is the Endotine® Forehead Device. This innovative solution is specifically designed to elevate forehead tissue in Frontal Lifting surgery. Its exclusive structure provides multiple points of contact with the forehead tissue, creating a more even and smoother distribution of the holding force.

Other options, such as screws and sutures, usually provide a point of contact that can rupture the soft tissue, and adversely affect the reliability of the brow lift.

Care after surgery

The patient’s recovery at the postoperative stage after a Frontal Lifting via endoscopy is more straightforward compared to more traditional techniques. Within ten days, most patients can resume their regular activities.

During the first few days, bruises and swelling in the incision area are common. Thus, we recommend the head be kept elevated whenever possible and cold compresses to help reduce swelling. Some patients experience headaches between 24 and 48 hours after surgery. The most visible signs of surgery likely disappear within three weeks and the hair will resume its growth in the subsequent months.

Among the indications, the patient can only wash their hair three days after the surgery and must take care of the dressings according to medical instructions, avoiding makeup for a few days. Patients must avoid physical exertion, such as lowering their heads. Avoiding sun exposure is also critical for scar protection.

In case of pain or discomfort, talk to your physician about pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs that can be used.
